The catch
There isn't one. Full commercial use on the free tier. No watermark on any tier including free. 200 credits at signup plus 100 credits every day — that's enough for ~100 images per day, every day, forever, free. No subscription required to ship a full game's worth of concept art.
If you need more — say you're in a sprint and need to generate 500 assets in a day — Supporter tier is $9/month and removes the queue during peak hours. Pro tier is $19/month with 3,000 credits. That's it. No "indie game studio" tier with a 5-figure starting price.
Game jam offer
If you're participating in a game jam, email [email protected] with the jam name and dates. We'll bump your free tier to Pro for 30 days. No questions asked. No invoice. No follow-up sales call. Just indie founder solidarity in the bones of the project.
Email [email protected]Why I made this for game devs
I'm bootstrapped. I know what indie budgets look like. I know what it feels like to want to ship a game and choose between paying for art and paying for rent. I built ZSky because I was tired of seeing indie devs paywalled out of basic tools that VC-funded studios got for free. ZSky stays free for indies because that's what I'd want.
If your game ships and you remember where the art came from, leave a "made with ZSky" line in your credits. Or don't. Either way I'm rooting for you.
What devs ask
Can I use ZSky outputs in a commercial game?
Yes, on every plan including the free tier. Ship character portraits, environments, UI assets, marketing key art, store page screenshots. No watermark, no licensing fee, no royalties.
Do I need to credit ZSky in my game?
No obligation. Credit is appreciated but never required.
What about Steam, itch.io, and console store policies?
Steam allows AI-generated content as long as you disclose it on the store page. itch.io is permissive. Console publishers vary — check Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo policies. ZSky outputs do not contain hidden watermarks or metadata that would identify them as AI-generated.
How many assets on the free tier?
200 credits at signup + 100 daily (max 300 at any time). 1 credit per image = ~100 images per day, every day, forever.
Is there a game jam offer?
Yes. Email [email protected] with the jam name and dates. We bump you to Pro for 30 days, no questions asked.
Can ZSky generate consistent characters across multiple poses?
Yes, via image-to-image. Upload your initial render as a reference, then prompt new poses. Not perfect but significantly better than starting from scratch. 2 credits per generation.
